4.  Minor Errors – Hidden Mistakes

Minor errors occur when reciting without rules designed to beatify the recitation of the Quran. These mistakes are considered less severe and relate more to the deficiency and lack of completeness of the recitation. Such mistakes do not change the meaning, yet they present the words of Quran in a less beautiful form. By tackling these problems, your recitation of the words of Allah will be in its most complete and beautiful form, which is what the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) instructed us to do. A few examples of minor errors are given below.

  • Not reading the ل in هُوَ الَّله with a Full-mouth.
  • Not reading the ر in صِرَاطَ with a Full-mouth.
  • Not reading ‘special sounds’, Ghunnah, Ikhfaa or Madd.
  • Overlooking the rules of the full mouth (Tafkheem) letters and the empty mouth (Tarqeeq) letters.
