Perhaps you are interested in starting your Quran journey, but not sure where to begin. At Pure Tajweed Institute we want all learners to recite Quran with Tajweed to a high standard. Tajweed means beautifying your reading of the Quran by following specific rules. To apply Tajweed in your recitation, you must pronounce every letter correctly noting its qualities and apply special Tajweed rules.

You will find many resources widely available for learning Tajweed. These resources contain useful information covering different aspects of Tajweed. They emphasise the importance of learning Tajweed but often overly focus on learning the rules. Also, it can be overwhelming when you are expected to grapple with many technical terms and fundamental principles of Tajweed. It’s quite common to find the language used is unnecessarily formal and can appear complicated to learners. In some cases, the intended audience is not clear and does not cater for the English-speaking learners. There seems to be a lack of focus on making a complex and unfamiliar subject accessible for learners using a familiar and simple context. As a learner, this can put you off and not draw you to engage with this fascinating subject of Tajweed.
