20. Full Ghunna Meem and Noon Mushaddad
There are three scenarios where the Ghunna will not take place. They occur in certain cases of نْ (Noon-Saakin) or [ٌ] [ٍ] [ً] (Tanween) and مْ (Meem-Sakkin). These are added for the purpose of completion of the topic of nasal sound, and in particular where it does not exist.
Izhaar (Make Clear) – Throat Letters – No Ghunna
If after نْ (Noon-Saakin) or [ٌ] [ٍ] [ً] (Tanween) there is any of the six throat letters ء ه ع ح غ ح then read clearly with no Ghunna.
وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا, وَهُمْ يَنْهَوْنَ, وَيَنْـَٔوْنَ
Idghaam (Merge) – Noon-Saakin-Tanween – No Ghunna
If after نْ (Noon-Saakin) or [ٌ] [ٍ] [ً] (Tanween) there is either of the two letters ل orر , merge the letters but do not read with Ghunna.
Izhaar Shafawiy (Make Clear) – Meem-Saakin – No Ghunna
If after مْ (Meem-Sakkin) there is any of the 26 letters, except م or ب , read clearly with no Ghunna.
