20.  Full Ghunna – Meem and Noon Mushaddad

The meaning of Meem and Noon Mushaddad is that the letters Meem and Noon carry a Shadda. In this case you have to make the nasal sound (‘full’ Ghunna) for two seconds. In other words, if the م or the ن has a   ّ (Shadda), you have to produce a pronounced sound, which is carried through the nose.

All مّ and نّ  (Meem and Noon Mushaddad) will always be read with a ‘full’ Ghunna. This is best demonstrated by examples, as shown below.

عَمَّ   اِنَّ   ثُمَّ   مِمَّا.
